Introduction to Behavioral Research Methods in Communication - University of Kansas

Research methods is a required course for all Communication Studies majors. It can also fulfill other requirements for Communication Studies minors and other majors. This class is taken in preparation for upper-level Communication Studies courses, particularly courses including social scientific research that may require students to use those methods for projects.

Professional Public Speaking - University of Kansas

In this course, students will develop, research, and prepare presentations for diverse audiences across professional contexts. Key areas of focus include teamwork, building public speaking confidence, effective listening, and practicing ethical communication in contemporary workplaces. Students will apply communication theories to evaluate professional communication and engage in self-reflection to improve and refine their professional public speaking skills.

Public Speaking

This class introduces students to foundational theories in oral communication. Students will develop, research, and deliver public presentations tailored to diverse audiences while gaining confidence and reducing communication apprehension.

COMS 310

Advanced Organizational Communication - University of kansas

This course explores advanced topics in organizational communication. Students will explore organization theories including critical, systems, feminist, and cultural approaches and examines the role of communication in each. The course is designed to heighten students' awareness of the role of communication in the organizing process and to develop their abilities to diagnose and prevent communication-related problems in the workplace.
